Repeat One Dinner Until It Becomes Yours
The first dependable dinner is not about variety. It is about making the same meal slightly better each time.
Pick one dinner that uses the range and maybe the air fryer. Keep it boring enough to repeat.
Rice bowl. Pasta with jarred sauce and one improvement. Chicken thighs with air fryer vegetables. Beans, eggs, and toast. The meal does not need to impress anyone. It needs to show up again next week.
Repeat with one change
Each attempt gets one adjustment:
- Salt earlier.
- Cut vegetables smaller.
- Start rice before everything else.
- Lower the burner before the pan smokes.
- Add acid at the end.
One change is enough. Too many changes make the result hard to understand.
When it becomes yours
The meal becomes yours when you can explain it without reading the recipe. You know what starts first, what can wait, what burns, and what saves it when it tastes flat.
That is very slow progress. It is also the kind that stays.
